Mariela loves collaborating with people to provide them the healthcare and knowledge they need to meet their sexual and reproductive health goals. She became a midwife after working for several years in community education and nonprofit administration. She received her nursing and midwifery education at Vanderbilt University. Outside of work she likes to spend time outside, do arts and crafts projects of all kinds, and watch her young child learn and grow.
